Applied Computer Graphics – Day 1

  4. Talk about presentations
  5. Today we’ll work on learning Adobe Illustrator. If you don’t have the program, please do the following:
    1. Go to http://www.adobe.com and click the “Sign In” link in the top right corner
    2. On the following page, click the blue “Create an Account” link. Create a free account using your Pima e-mail address and any password you like (you might want to use your Pima e-mail password because it’s easy to remember)
    3. After you login to your account, go to to where you can download free trials. If you see a link that says “Download free trial,” go there and download and install Adobe Illustrator. If you don’t see the link, click the search icon and search for “download Illustrator” then download the program

    2. Discuss “online store summer project” and mask designs. Look at masks on redbubble
    3. Download mask template
      1. Masks are two-layered and made of 100% brushed woven polyester.
      2. The over-ear elastic straps hold the mask for a snug fit over mouth and nose
      3. Masks are one size and will fit most adults
      4. 7.25″ x 4.6″ / 18.5 x 11.5 cm
    4. Create RedBubble account
    5. Work on mask

Assignment

  1. Do App Icon assignment (see download link above)
  2. Sketch out a rough mask design idea and upload it to your Google Drive folder. You can use pencil or ink on paper and upload a photo of it, or use your favorite software to create it.
